Well, that would be wise in any event, to minimize build pollution.
But if you look in /usr/share/mk/bsd.port.mk, you will see that
bsd.own.mk is typically only included after _WITHOUT_SRCCONF is
defined. It is only exceptional cases where src.conf can have any
effect in Ports.
