Is it a transcription error or are you really using a command named
"pkg" rather than pkg_version(1)?
I think he is using pkgng.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but pkg_version seems to
want the arguments separately.
$ pkg_version -X -s Image
ImageMagick =
$
Works ok here:
$ uname -v ; pkg_version -Xs "lib[Xx]c"
FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p3 #0: Tue Sep 27 18:45:57 UTC 2011
