I have observed that some poudriere jails, on occasion, get stuck in a hanging pattern. If I go to a jail that became stuck, top always shows something like:
PID USERNAME THR PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE C TIME WCPU COMMAND 91534 root 1 23 3 21840K 2376K CPU3 3 0:00 0.02% top 24713 root 1 52 3 49828K 0K wait 2 0:13 0.00% <pkg-static> 24637 root 1 23 3 9048K 148K wait 0 0:00 0.00% make 26552 root 1 52 3 190M 44K urdlck 0 0:00 0.00% dot 24652 root 1 52 3 16988K 0K wait 1 0:00 0.00% <sh> 26551 root 1 52 3 16988K 0K wait 3 0:00 0.00% <sh> The solution I have found is to kill the process named "dot" (26552 in this case). Poudriere then picks up from where it left off and successfully completes the package build.
