UFS is great - always my first choice, particularly when dual-booting. Please try to keep as close as possible to my cheat-sheet. If you provide commands/output, I will try to help as much as I can. One additional tip : since you (like me) prefer MBR, run this command when install is finished : boot0cfg -B /dev/ada0 I am presuming that your disk is ada0. FreeBSD's boot0 manager is one of the great things you will like.
