I have to organize my install notes, it is still messy.
You should organize it into the port format, so that there will be no need for notes. -)
I had to build/install necessary python dependencies such as gprc, gprc_tools for python3.6. It would be nice to have grpc and grpc_tools as packages.
Even without those packages, you should be able to build the port while the environment variable is set to PYTHON_VERSION=3.6
