come to think of it, if you forced the installation of XFree86 &
other _dependent_ ports were already installed, it is quite probable
that they were not rebuilt/reinstalled, only this particular meta
port.

not quite what you were expecting, eh?  you may want to reinstall
those _dependent_ packages too.

in addition, sysutils/portupgrade port may be of some help.  i
personally don't use it for port building, only for fixing port
database.  others don't get tired of mentioning it again & again.
