Squid previously used to work, then all of a sudden it would crash each time and up till now i havent botherd to much with it.

Log shows you the all of the needed information: /usr/local/squid/logs/access.log is not writeable by the user "squid"


Following two commands should fix things up:

chown -R squid:squid /usr/local/squid/
chmod -R 750 /usr/local/squid/
