Yes, that was the problem.
Looks like I have a lot to learn about FreeBSD ;)
You dont need "make buildworld" if you have not changed source files.
So you can "cvsup" then buildworld, then buildkernel, installkernel,
installworld,...
build other kernel, install this kernel, ...
