                                my fairly new 40gb ibm drive is ill.
                         i had just bought a 40 gb maxtor [ad1] to back
it up,
                         when tues night i got the message-pls see
below--

                         reran this several times; same answers
                         as i said, / and ad0s1f read fine. But, for
/usr
                         a manual mount + ls show little. / and /var
                         still perfect. any way to retrieve any data
from
                         /usr??
                         any thoughts?  all data gone on /usr?
