Ours is not very far from GENERIC - we include GENERIC and couple of options (PF,PIM,etc). The machine is 5.4-stable/amd64 It's still a solution - we will know that is risky and will setup a new stripe from the spare disks that we have and will run with them for about a year. Then will upgrade to a decent 3ware controller, a bunch of new disks and other stuff.
