For maximum cost savings, build a cheap (< $400) FreeBSD server with three NICs, attach each to a $100 16-port switch, set it to bridged mode, and get a 48-port switch for well under $1000. Will it replace the Catalyst? No, but neither will that hub. -- Kirk Strauser In Googlis non est, ergo non est.
