When I try to install the multimedia/handbrake port, I get the following error message:

When I go to the URL, I find that the only version available is 0.7.1, which was apparently released 2/24/2006. The earlier version is probably available through some sort of source control, but I wasn't smart enough to figure out what/where/how.

Being new to FreeBSD, I don't know the proper procedure in this case. Should I report this to someone? Or is taken care of in some other way? Or is this the wrong forum?

Can I just manually edit the port Makefile and distinfo file to have the correct version/size/MD5 etc? Or is this too simplistic a fix that will screw up other things?

As always,
Thanks for your support

Don Hayford
