Hi, I am happy to have FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE and KDE running on my intel box. I am now trying to install MySQL. I logged in as root and ran the following commands
# pkg_add -r msql41-server Added group "mysql" Added user "mysql" # pkg_add -r mysql41-client "mysql-client-4.1.18_1" or its older version already installed # mysql -uroot ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket 'tmp/mysql.sock' (2) What to do?
