You should be able to remove the bad drive leaving the good one in use.

Have my remote helper power cycle it, as he cant get in either.
Comes up asking for single user shell, get in, and fsck -y fails with:
fsck_ufs: cannot alloc [random # of bytes here]
Searching tells me in dead.
Running 6.1.
