Take a look at boot0cfg - it can install a new master boot record - If you
by accident have nuked /boot
You can normally get away with a make install from /sys/i386/boot -
sometimes you have to copy a file or
two by hand

Subject: Changing Boot Loader

Is there anyway to install a new boot loader without having to
perform a complete reinstall?
