Hello Nicola,

The same happens when I do that. Here's what I have inside the files directory after I do the make clean:

patch-aa patch-ac patch-af patch-ah pkg-message.in
patch-ab        patch-ad        patch-ag        patch-ai

Then I ran:
ecerejo# patch < /tmp/xmcd.patch

and I get this:

Hmm...  Looks like a unified diff to me...
(Patch is indented 1 space.)
