I have to disagree with the last VirtualBox comment.  It seems to work
quite well for the operating systems it supports (mostly Linux and
Windows as guests.)  Sadly, FreeBSD as a guest just doesn't seem to
fly.

From the sounds of it, if you're looking to host other server environments, FreeBSD isn't a solution to really consider. If you're looking to just test some configurations periodically, FreeBSD has some options, but not as many as Linux :-(
