$ echo $PATH /bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/X11R6/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/home/mekanix/bin But this is a shell-prompt, and thus reads the /etc/profile ~/.profile or login.conf... but could KDM do som mixup of order? /usr/local/share/config/kdm/Xsession does something to the PATH, but I don't know much about shell-scripting so it's pure jibberish to me.
