I have tried "shutdown -p now" in terminal or click shutdown in GDM. Both of them have the problem, it freezes and I do not know what it is doing.
I think maybe it's the acpi module halts when doing shutdown somewhere. Anyway, thanks for suggestion, I will try this next time I close my computer.
