Having trouble upgrading 6.3 to 7.0 from source. This is on a single-CPU
amd64 machine.

These steps all work OK:

1. cd /usr/src

2. cvsup -g -L 2 /usr/local/etc/security-supfile (tag points to RELENG_7_0)

3. make buildworld

4. make buildkernel KERNCONF=GENERIC

5. make installkernel KERNCONF=GENERIC

6. reboot to single-user mode

7. mount -u /

8. mount -a

9. mergemaster -p

But then I do:

10. make installworld

and get this error:

install: crt1.o: No such file or directory
***Error code 71

crt1.o does exist in /usr/lib.

Thanks in advance for any clues on fixing this upgrade.

I had a similar problem with one server I upgraded this way too. I was running the 7.0 kernel with 6.3 world. I rebuilt world after cleaning everything and the next installworld went fine.
