Yes, done it. AMD 550 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, 6 GB HDD (new 20 GB disk ready to start) with FreeBSD 5. Main utilities were xmms and mplayer, NB no K- or G-mplayer. Worked very well for serving music and videos (allthough not in DVD quality, no DVD drive). > Or is there a FBSD Media Center project out either in alpha or beta? I don't know. But in order to utilize a "low end machine" for the purpose specified you need to taylor a lot. I don't think there's anything preconfigured yet... GUI setting here: WindowMaker, Midnight Commander, X Terminals and some utilities as shell scripts or in Tcl/Tk I wrote myself. -- Polytropon >From Magdeburg, Germany Happy FreeBSD user since 4.0 Andra moi ennepe, Mousa, ... _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
