Hi, First off, I'm sending this mail to freebsd-questions again so other people can help you. As other people suggested, the better option is reading the excelent FreeBSD documentation that you can find at http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/ There you will find topics about installing, configuring and tuning your FreeBSD system. And of course, here we are to help you. If you installed X Window and all the stuff, why is startx not working? is the command found? does the X server try to start but if fails?
