Is VTC dead?

Googling around I discovered VTC 
<http://wiki.freebsd.org/dev/vtc%284%29> and it looks interesting.  A 
graphical syscons terminal.

I'm surprised there isn't more interest.
Is the group that worked on this concept dead?
