Ok here's what is hopefully a quick and easy question with a quick and easy answer! Running X4.3.0/gnome2. I wish to just run something like "xearth -root" but when I try this the program runs but the background stays the same. I assume there is something keeping the root window locked or some easy explanation. What should I do/look for to make -root work on X apps?
