It should get an address via DHCP. (I did not see where this was indicated in ifconfig.)
ifconfig won't tell you how it got it's address.
Can you post the full output of ifconfig wi0 and also /etc/rc.conf?
Have you used pccard_ifconfig="DHCP" in /etc/rc.conf?
