lo0 can be anything between 127.0.0.1 and 127.255.255.255
I don't want to argue the fine points of IP protocol.
The _point_ is that if you read the original poster's message, he's not yet at a level of understanding where he should be changing the IP of his loopback device.
Let's not throw the entire pile of RFCs at him all at once.
