Yeah, I took a look at /etc/make.conf ... and (like an idiot) I
set the CPU type to P4 when it's just a Celeron.

What is in /etc/make.conf


and what type of hardware do you have ?

You will get these sorts of errors if you try and use say i686 or AMD specific instructions on a ITX or 486 CPU.
