I also use wake-on-lan to turn on my laptop from my nat box when i leave it home, i have a 3Com 3c905C-TX Fast Etherlink XL (the xl driver) and works fine, the only thing that i setup to make it work was my bios: turn on the 'Wake-On-Lan' option.
