I've had the same thing happen... but mostly under heavy load. From reports I
have heard from other ppl that use this card under FBSD and Windows, I am going
to go with it is just a crappy card.

I've had the same experience with realtek cards. Some work wonderfully, full time, others are unreliable at best. My fix was to but a couple nice 3com cards (xl), i've never looked back.
