There's no specific limit: the total number you could possibly support depends on the capacity of your hardware and how well you can tweak the kernel settings. Practically speaking, you could certainly support dozens, and maybe hundreds of addresses on a single machine. The only way you'll get any hard numbers is to run some experiments.
