I am also having a problem getting the binary OpenOffice to run (I am running FBSD-5.1). The problem is it cannot find /libexec/ld-elf.so.1.
I installed the elf package but still get the same error. I posted a message about this a few days ago and haven't received any replies.
Any idea?

Yes, I think I ran into this. Not sure how it came about, but you
should have /libexec/ld-elf.so. Since the package is looking for
ld-elf.so.1 just

ln -s /libexec/ld-elf.so /libexec/ld-elf.so.1

Dan

Interesting. I found that I do indeed have ld-elf.so.1, located in /usr/libexec/. I then found I have no /libexec directory, so I created it, copied the ld-elf.so.1 file into it, and now openoffice runs. Only problem now is my own stupid mistake, the package I downloaded and installed is in some very foreign language, like russian or something similar. Dogone it, gotta go out and download the correct one now.
(Guess I'll pay a little more attention to the download screen).
Thanks for the tips,
Chip
