Hi Kris, The following line from /usr/local/sbin/make_describe_pass1: open("|cd #{dir} && make -k -j3 -f -", 'w') do |w| I changed to: open("|cd #{dir} && make -", 'w') do |w| now portsdb -U is running for quite some time. I have no idea what it is doing though. robert
