BSDheads, Im using the first com port (/dev/cuaa0) on my computer with no problems, Im trying to use the second com port (/dev/cuaa1) and having problems. running FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE #0: Mon Feb 9 22:03:10 EST 2004
when I run minicom, I get [EMAIL PROTECTED] minicom minicom: cannot open /dev/cuaa1: Device not configured looking at dmesg, I see sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 flags 0x10 on isa0 sio0: type 16550A sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 so, FreeBSD cant see com2 on irq3, so Ive googled and saw someone that said com2 isnt enabled by default in your kernel, enable it and recompile/reboot. I look in my kernel config file and I see the following: device sio0 at isa? port IO_COM1 flags 0x10 irq 4 device sio1 at isa? port IO_COM2 irq 3 does that look right? the other thing im thinking is that com2 might be disabled in the bios, but I havent rebooted yet to take a look. thoughts?
