I've never encountered such a problem before. You may need to run a buildworld first, or a make clean in modules/drm or even cvsup FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE. Try editing the Makefile in /usr/src/sys/modules/drm to reflect: "SUBDIR = radeon" and see what happenes.
