My guess would be a misplaced comment in main.cf or master.cf. Can you post the relevant lines with a couple of lines of surrounding context?
I would agree with Logan here,
There is an typo perhaps below the amavis statement in your smtp_recipients option (or however it was called ;-))
Could you show us those lines? (They dont contain any privileged information imho so it can be safely done)
