Yes, the drive spins up perfectly. Sadly, it's quite an old drive, and I don't have any other drives like it (it's a 30GB IBM DTLA-307030), so I don't have any electronics boards that will fit. Oh well, I can at least leave it lying around, just in case. ;-)
