I've done it once in multiuser mode and it all went fine. I did read somewhere that if you do have to do it this way because getting physical access to the machine is difficult, then make sure you shut down as many services/processes as you can. i.e just make sure sshd is the only daemon running etc ... If you've used the correct TAG in your cvsup files and have cvsup'd over the last day or so, then you should build 5.3-RELEASE. Hope this helps.
