Should I dedicate an entire machine to being a DHCP server ? Or will the load be minimal and I can put the DHCP server functionality on my webserver ?
A DHCP server is very lightweight, and you can run one on a machine used for other tasks just fine. Unless your other machine is overloaded now, it probably won't notice a difference...
