No, honestly, I was looking in /usr/ as a whole: asarian-host: {root} % find /usr/ -name "libz.*" | xargs ls -la -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 61898 Mar 7 2004 /usr/lib/libz.a lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Mar 7 2004 /usr/lib/libz.so -> libz.so.2 -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 52108 Mar 7 2004 /usr/lib/libz.so.2 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 74486 Mar 21 21:01 /usr/local/lib/libz.a It's not there.
