Does anyone have recommendations or experience migrating away from MySQL toward either MariaDB or Percona?
I'm not looking for a discussion about the products themselves; there is plenty on the internet to read about that. But I'm interested in stability and support on FreeBSD. None of mysql, percona or mariadb have anything but a fleeting reference to FreeBSD on their sites. And the FreeBSD ports appear to have a roughly equal set of patches [1] [2] [3], so it doesn't appear that any of them have upstreamed patches or perform their own testing on FreeBSD. I'm looking to adopt Galera for clustering. Is there anything to recommend one over the other with regard to stability on BSD? Do either of Maria or Percona have a stronger involvement with the FreeBSD community? I know Oracle isn't big on community :-( Cheers Ari [1] https://reviews.freebsd.org/diffusion/P/browse/head/databases/mysql57-server/files/ [2] https://reviews.freebsd.org/diffusion/P/browse/head/databases/percona56-server/files/ [3] https://reviews.freebsd.org/diffusion/P/browse/head/databases/mariadb101-server/files/ -- --------------------------> Aristedes Maniatis CEO, ish https://www.ish.com.au GPG fingerprint CBFB 84B4 738D 4E87 5E5C 5EFA EF6A 7D2E 3E49 102A
