I haven't tried booting with a CD in the drive.  I don't have anything on
ata0 and I've only got a CD-ROM drive on ata1.

That's what I was hoping.  I guess that's as good a reason as any to move
to 6.0.  I'm going to try RELENG_5_4 too, just to see if it works.
