Follow-up Comment #1, bug #17968 (project freeciv):

I'll have to do a little more reading to understand how the vision_radius_sq
number translates into actual squares seen, but your logic is persuasive.  It
makes sense that vision into *adjacent* squares forces a square pattern, but
for longer ranges i agree that a rounded radius is preferable to a pointy
one...

Do the actual numbers have to change when modifying squares <-> hexagons?
