Looking at the code, server puts untranslated name of the unit in unit_link()
and expects client to translate it (that's done knowingly, as comments state
the fact - though no reason has been given there). However, client can give
translated name only if it knows the unit so it can figure out what it is - in
case of a message about already dead unit client reverts to using untranslated
name sent by the server.
