I'm having some problems with translation of Freeciv 2.3.0-beta3 to

2.2.4. Is this a known issue?
Are you using the Gtk client?

Many of the "generic" buttons (Yes, No, Cancel, etc) that appear on
popups, dialogs etc are "stock" buttons from Gtk, for which Freeciv does
not provide the text.

If the end user (or you) have the appropriate Gtk localisation installed
(and I'd be surprised if there isn't one for Slovenian), they should see
these buttons translated even without a Freeciv Slovenian localisation.
Conversely, without the Gtk localisation, I wouldn't expect the labels
on these buttons to be translated even with a full Freeeciv
localisation.

(Personally, on Ubuntu Linux, I've found it necessary to have the
relevant "system" localisation installed before I can use a Freeciv
localisation, so the issue hasn't arisen for me. I imagine it's
different on Windows.)

Most of the strings you mention only appear in other clients (such as
the obsolete win32 client... we should really get rid of that so that
it's not wasting time for new translators!). (But you should be able to
see your translation of "_Quit" on the File menu in the Gtk client.)

OK, great! I'm translating on Windows.
