This turned out to not be that painful. I fixed a bunch of places where types were poorly specified, and left four really tricky cases. With that done, switching to Java 7 only kicked up two warnings, which were false positives. So as of git.52dad7a, FreeCol now requires Java 7 to build... and if it all starts failing now, that might be the problem:-). Cheers, Mike Pope
