dear hemant, and others,

you know, there is a growing interest among general people, and those
who use foss, towards media, new media, multimedia, digital
creativity, and more.

so here's an idea: why don't a few of us just get together to kick some tyres?
if three of us get together, that's a crowd already.
we could even meet for just an hour or two.
think small. think different. think foss. think bliss. whatever.
let's do such meets more often.

there is actually so much more to explore just within this vertical of foss,
it's beyond our collective imaginations.
i would love to learn, share, grow, inspire, be inspired,
by all those interested.

venue?
date?
time?
who all is interested?
initial agenda?

topics smorgasboard:
color, typography, graphic design, digital photography, pixel-pushin',
3d, user-interface, digital sound, sound-editing, music-authorin',
internet radio, podcasting, web-tv, dvd-ripping, codecs, gnash,
librivox, and well, anything else you'd like to share.

level: newbies. i insist on this one, please.

sharing simple stuff like what is amarok, how does it work, what you
can listen to, how to tune into bhangra-hip-hop, will always have a
greater cultural impact than how to create a low-latency sound-server.

speakers?
i volunteer kishore bhargava to share how he handles raw-files and
dSLR photography.
ankur rohtagi to share what's next with his internet radio fetish.
rajmathur on his divx transcoding.
andrew has friends at jnu who do video-edits.
there is small and growing community of blender3d in delhi, too.
kishore mentioned he had a friend who runs an entire digital sound
studio on foss. could we get someone to talk from there?

finally, some inspiration from bollywood for us?

hehe

niyam
