Sure. Would be very happy.
I think, during 12th century invasion of muslim rulers, folks migrated
from portions of Gujarat and settled in Vijayanagara kingdom at Hampi.
Vijayanagara kingdom was doing good and sent 'Nayaks' far south to
administer. These Nayaks took Sourashtra people along with them. Later
when Vijayanagar kingdom collapsed and Nayaks became powerful, they
established themselves in the South. So, you would the language spoke
in Southern India, mostly in and around, Madurai.

Gujarati and Sourashtra have the common parent language Sanskrit.
Gujarati came under the influence of Hindi, Persian and Arabic (with
Muslim invasions) and Sourashtra had not, as folks had migrated down.
But sadly, the script system is not very prevalent and language is
mostly colloquial amongst the community members.
