Thanks to Frank Atwood for being the first contributor to my campaign with $50. I visited the Longmont Daily Times-Call on Friday as well. I am looking into running ads for the Sunday editions. On Monday, just before the LPBC lunch, Trevor Hughes will interview me for an article in the LDTC. John Callor made a great suggestion. That we write ad copy that looks more like a series of articles than the meaningless hoopla campaign ads that we are all drearily bored by. I want my campaign to look like no others. So far, I am the only person to declare to run for commissioner. So we should lead and let the others follow. Ben Pearlman (D), land use attorney, has filed his candidate affidavit, but has not made a public declaration. He's not a candidate until he does. Ben is in district two, as am I. Will Toor (D), Boulder's mayor, has been talking to many people about running, but has neither declared or filed. I talked with him on Dec 19th, and he told me that he was still thinking about it. He didn't sound all that enthusiastic. Will is in district one, so he is not my competition. Tom Hogue (R/D), leader of Historic Boulder, is in the midst of a party jump. He hasn't filed, but he may have already violated FEC and FCPA laws, because he's told people that he intends to run for commissioner of district two. Anytime a candidate opens his/her yap and says they will run (or intend to) they've got ten days to file a candidate affidavit. He hasn't filed, but his jaws are flapping. I'm thinking of sinking his boat with a letter to the SoS and AG. I want to find a central location and time that works for all of us, and have a meeting. For many of you that means an evening.
