undoubtedly will arrive like a lead balloon. However, the rest of you can write
to the Camera and ask for coverage of all candidates. Tell them that you are a
Libertarian, unless you have reason to hide that. The
Camera’s publisher has a chip on his shoulder since he worked for a Libertarian
owned newspaper at his last job and apparently wasn’t happy about it. In his
conversation with me, he made various comments about ‘you libertarians …’

write a letter to the editor for publication. So did my co-workers in the
Clerk’s Office. So I have. I’ve clearly mentioned all the names of the other
people that have announced or are still pondering. I speak fairly, and if you

Camera reported in Local Digest that Lyons resident Ben Pearlman had announced
his candidacy for commissioner. This short piece also stated that Paul Tiger
could not be reached for comment on that day. However, this is difficult to
believe, for I am Paul Tiger and I have been unsuccessful in reaching the
reporter who attempted to contact me on Friday the 16th. Every
weekday since I have been to the Camera offices at about 11am and was unable to
speak with anyone concerning my campaign. No one would come to the lobby to
speak to me. This went on all week until Friday when I spoke with the publisher
in the lobby. I did have a conversation with one of the editor earlier that day
over the phone, and a manager for the reporters earlier in the week. I was
promised that I would soon be hearing from someone to cover the political race
for commissioner. To date I still haven’t heard from any reporter concerning my
campaign for commissioner of Boulder County. I filed and announced in
September of last year. I sent an email to the Camera and called as well. Soon
afterward Tom Hogue was granted an interview in which he talked about
considering running for this post, but had not yet committed. More calls and
emails did not result in an interview. Since then three other newspapers in
Boulder county have run stories about my candidacy, two of which did in-depth
interviews. Another hopeful, Boulder’s
Mayor Will Toor has received press, but alas not the Libertarian candidate.
Simply a statement that I could not be reached. I was most certainly reachable,
but the Camera political reporter did not respond to thirteen visits to the
Camera offices and umpteen phone calls. Now another Libertarian
candidate is about to announce his candidacy for commissioner. Shall we expect
the same treatment from the Camera? Whereas only Democrats get press? The good people of Boulder
deserve a choice, but cannot rely upon the Camera to deliver information about
any choices beyond that which the Democratic Party will supply. The publisher
asked me what I wanted them to do, and my answer was to provide coverage of all
candidates. As of this writing that has not happened. If you subscribe to the Camera,
are an advertiser, or simply purchase it off the stands, you should demand to
get all the political news of your county, and not just that which the Camera
