Thus my need to separate myself from my other incarnation. I am interested in purchasing ad space in you paper and in writing a few articles as well. Furthermore, I would like to come to Allenspark and talk with local residents about issues that face them. My hope is that your newspaper and volunteers would welcome this opportunity to be representative of your community. I started my race for commissioner in September of 2003, and have been actively campaigning for some time. While the office that I seek represents commissioner's district two, the post is voted on at-large by the entire county. Additionally, the commissioners of Boulder County represent all of the county, despite the delineation of districts for commissioners. I am a longtime community volunteer, former county firefighter, currently on several community boards, such as president and founder of the Friends of the Longmont Youth Center and board secretary of the Boulder Community Network. I am a supporting member of the Land Use Coalition, in support of the rights of private property owners. I also have been serving my party as the legislative director of the Libertarian Party of Colorado. Unfortunately, as a member of a minor party it is difficult to get much press in this county. I became keenly aware of this fact when I ran for Clerk and Recorder in 2002. I now work as a technologist for the Clerk's office, bringing into being many of the things that I campaigned for in my bid for office back in 2002. So I have to work twice as hard (even harder than that) than any major party candidate to raise the awareness of Boulder County voters. I hope that the Allenspark Wind will allow me space to write some editorials, and of course I will support that effort and your paper with advertising.
